Creative Ways To Reuse Your Biodegradable T-Shirt Bags

About Me
Creating A Business You Can Count On

When I started thinking about ways to make my children's lives better, I realized that I had to create something they could count on financially for the long haul. I started thinking about creating a business, and I felt really great about it. I started working with other people to think of a concept that would work for the local community, and it was powerful to develop an idea regarding a business that met other people's needs. Although I am still not a business owner, I decided to make this blog to help other people develop their own ideas about starting a company and a business that works for their lifestyle and financial needs.

Creative Ways To Reuse Your Biodegradable T-Shirt Bags

Plastic bags have contributed greatly to pollution over the past several decades. Thankfully measures are being taken to reduce the number of non-biodegradable plastic bags that end up in landfills. Biodegradable t-shirt bags, for example, are becoming more common. Simply using these bags instead of standard plastic bags is a great way to help save the planet. But you can do the earth even more of a favor by reusing these bags. Here are some creative ways to reuse them.

Dispose of your cat litter.

If you have a cat, consider scooping the litter box into your already-used biodegradable t-shirt bags. This is a better solution than buying separate plastic bags to use just for cat litter, and it is better than flushing cat litter down the toilet, which can be bad for your pipes and also for the septic or public sewer system. You can tie the two handles of the bag together to seal it off and keep the litter inside; this should conceal most odors.

Wrap your paintbrushes between uses.

When you are repainting a room, consider using a biodegradable bag to wrap your paintbrushes between uses. (You don't have to wash the brush. Just wrap it, paint and all, with a bag, and then secure the bag with a rubber band.) This should keep the paintbrush moist for a day or two, saving you the hassle of having to scrub or rinse the brush. You can throw the bag away when done without having to feel bad.

Line a paint tray.

Here's another use for these bags during a painting project. Place one on the bottom of your paint tray before you pour the paint in. This way, when the tray is empty and you're finished painting, you can just pull the liner out and use a new one. You don't have to scrub the tray or worry about it having paint residue left on it.

Protect garden plants.

Do you have garden plants that the wildlife seems to enjoy eating? For instance, maybe squirrels keep eating your tomatoes. You can cut some holes in used biodegradable plastic bags and then slip them over the plants while you're away and unable to keep watch. Don't leave them in place permanently, as this may inhibit plant growth.

Biodegradable bags are kind to the planet when you are done with them, and you can do even better by using them twice before disposing of them. Keep the options above in mind.
